New warehouse and yard constructed for engineering business.
The SWFPA project involved the construction of a new office, training and welfare facility in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. Acting as Principal Contractor, we delivered a modern multi-use building incorporating office accommodation, training facilities, welfare spaces and storage areas, together with a full internal fit-out and mechanical and electrical services installation.
Key Challenges
The project included a significant proportion of Contractor Designed Portion (CDP) elements, requiring close coordination with the architect and supply chain to achieve the required design standards. Material procurement and supply chain pressures created programme challenges, necessitating careful resequencing of activities to maintain key milestones and handover dates.
Solutions
Strong collaboration between the client, design team and supply chain enabled design requirements to be successfully managed throughout the project. Through proactive programme management, regular stakeholder engagement and flexible sequencing of works, the team mitigated supply chain issues and maintained progress against critical project milestones.
Outcomes and Achievements
The project was delivered on time and within budget despite construction and procurement challenges. Effective teamwork and collaboration ensured all key milestones were achieved, while the quality of workmanship received excellent feedback from the client. The completed facility has significantly enhanced SWFPA’s operational, training and support capabilities.
