LOCATION:

Across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire

Due to a growing workload, CHAP Group are looking to recruit ambitious and self-motivated civil engineering personnel to work on their sites across the northeast of Scotland. To carry out duties including kerbing, deep drainage, earthworks, concrete works, steel fixing, utilities and streetworks.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with quality and guidelines as required.
  • Ensure Plant and tools are operated and maintained safely and correctly by yourself and others.
  • Through pro-active, hands-on leadership, drive progress on site.
  • Demonstrate how to perform operations on site.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate member of their team.
  • Supervise and monitor all personnel on site: employees, agency workers, subcontractors and any other non-employees and allocate work as appropriate.
  • To ensure quality control of all work carried out on site.
  • Carry out and write risk assessments for each site and each stage of development daily.
  • General labouring work including digging, paving, drainage and concreting, etc.
  • Ensure that all materials are available for use as required.
  • Ensure all employees on site work in line with the health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are followed, and guidelines implemented – Especially in respect of PPE.

Qualifications & Competency

Qualifications

  • Previous construction labouring/ supervision experience
  • CSCS card

Civil Engineering Foremen/Gangers

  • Experience in/with concrete, drainage, earthworks & utilities.
  • Experience in team supervision is essential.
  • Driving Licence required.

Civil Engineering Operatives

  • Construction experience and CSCS card holders preferred.
  • Training will be provided where appropriate.
  • Transport provided from most areas.
