Key tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Undertake administration duties in support of Civils Division and Plant & Transport department.
  • When required, undertake administration duties within the Procurement department.
  • Provide holiday/sickness absence cover for Plant Controller and Procurement Manager.
  • Occasional driving duties, eg to collect/deliver vehicles.
  • When required, issue vehicles to personnel, ensuring correct procedure is followed.
  • When required, check vehicles on return and prepare them for re-issue.
  • Assist maintain Procurement store in an orderly, clean and tidy condition when required.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by management.
  • Be responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and anyone else that you could affect.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to the Company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Reduce waste as much as feasible (e.g. avoid unnecessary printing/copying of documents, switch off lights/equipment when not in use.
  • Recycle items wherever and whenever feasible to do so.

Qualifications & Competency

Essential Qualifications

  • Driving Licence – preferably clean.
  • National 4, or equivalent level qualifications, in English and a Numeracy subject.

Essential Criteria:

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Outlook.
  • Previous experience of administration duties.
  • Ability to work as a flexible member of a small team.
  • Able to prioritise work tasks.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent time management.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience within a Construction or Civil Engineering environment.
  • Previous experience in a Plant, Transport or Procurement environment.
  • Previous experience of Navision/Evision or similar computer system.
